9.15am John Giles, Divisional Director at Promar International
John will give a talk entitled What opportunities exist for the South West food and drink sector? John will look at the UK economic prospects over the nest few years, with a focus on the South West region, as well as what is happening on the other side of the world and the implications that this has on the UK. He will also examine the key drivers in the food sector and what food businesses need to do to survive and prosper.

9.35am Jolyon Stonehouse, Managing Partner at Old Mill
Jolyon will be focusing on the issues that matter to food businesses, including how to take advantage of current tax opportunities. In this difficult year it is more important than ever to work alongside your accountant, preparing your accounts and balance sheet to win favour with your bank manager.

9.55am Michael Halsey, Associate at Foot Anstey
Michael will be discussing employment issues in relation to food businesses. In an industry where temporary and part time workers are prominent, it is important to understand the relevant employment regulations, and how to handle an employee if an issue arises.

Rupert Cox, Chief Executive, Somerset Chamber of Commerce
Rupert is CEO of Somerset Chamber of Commerce and is currently acting CEO of Into Somerset. Rupert is passionate about Somerset as a place to live and do business, and has 20 years experience of the food and drink sector having been a lamb and beef producer on the Somerset levels.

John Giles, Divisional Director, Promar International
John has worked with Promar for 18 years across a wide range of areas within the agri-food sector, focusing on mainstream and niche markets as well as retail and food service.

Jolyon Stonehouse, Managing Partner, Old Mill accountants and financial advisers
Jolyon has spent the past 15 years dealing with many leading regional businesses. His portfolio includes a number of significant food related businesses ranging from cheese makers, through to food distribution and retail to ingredients manufacturers.

Michael Halsey, Associate, Foot Anstey
Michael has specialised in employment law since qualification in 2000 and has been with Foot Anstey since November 2008. He advises on all aspects of employment law and has experience of acting for both large and small employers in the private and public sector, including a number of food businesses.
